Vintage Scrapbook Tutorial

Hello Everyone

Today is a new venture for me! I am offering a tutorial for sale.

I have just finished teaching this project as a special class and the response from my lovely ladies has been so amazing, I thought I would offer the chance for everyone to make this little beauty.

This scrapbook (apx 6" X 6") is made from scratch using cardstock and paper and was a labour of love to design! I really never expected to teach it - but was overwhelmed by requests.

For £3.95 you will recieve a 10 page photo tutorial with all measurements, (in inches), and instructions to create this scrapbook. Below you can see two of the 16 pages inside - and they all look vintage and beautiful! I have included pockets a fold down journalling or photo tag and lots more embellishments.

Simply click on the button below to order the tutorial, and I will send you a link by email. You can then view on screen or print out as you prefer.

Everything is decorated, here you can see the inside of the back cover and the closure flap.

Should you wish to purchase the beautiful Fan Fare designer paper I used or any of the stamps I chose to use, contact your Stampin' Up! demonstrator - or contact me if you are in Europe. I would love to help. :) You need just half a pack of the designer paper to create the scrapbook exactly as I have above.

Thank you for visiting today.

Petite Purse in Vellum

Hello Everyone

Today I am sharing a little project I made using our beautiful Vellum cardstock. Because it is so stiff and strong it is perfect for embossing.

Here I cut a little handbag shape with the Petite Purse die, folded along all the pre-scored lines and them embossed it using the Vine Street embossing folder.

It is important to re-inforce those score lines before you emboss - otherwise they are hard to find in the pattern. I made a tag using the Pretty Petites stamp set, and cut with the Petite Curly Label Punch.

I glued the bag together using Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive, which dries clear, and finished with some satin ribbon from the Sycamore Street ribbon and button pack.

Hope you like it! Back on Tuesday with another video. Do call back then.

Altered Gift Box

Hello Everyone

A quick blog post today - and an altered gift box. This gift box had been used over Christmas to hold sweets, but rather than throwing it away, I though I would give it a quick makeover.

I added a Thanks sentiment from the Vintage Verses stamp set and added Pool Party ribbon from the Sycamore Street accessories set. Both of these can be recieved free during Sale-A-Bration!

Hope you like it!

Cycle This Way!

Hello Everyone

After my quick and clean card earlier in the week, I thought it was time for something a little more vintage today.

I have layered up a mixture of Designer Series Paper and stamped impages to create this card. I also sponged all the layers with Crumb Cake ink.

My tip for today is how to create the tag. First I used the Apothecary Accents framelit die to cut the shape in Marina Mist cardstock. It has two rounded ends so I snipped off one. (You can see this on my previous video - click *VIDEOS on the left to see it).

I then decided I needed a layer. I cut a piece of Natuals Ivory cardstock in a rectangle about a quarter of an inch bigger than the framelit tag. I then punched a 1 1/4" circle in Naturals Ivory and stuck it to the back. Much neater than trying to hand cut it! Do you like the look?

You can see another Sale-A-Bration sneak peek here. The beautiful Penny Farthing image is from a stamp set called Feeling Sentimental and I have just LOVED using this stamp set. I bet it will be the first choice freebie for many people this year.

Do you like today's project?

Quick and Pretty Card

Hello Everyone

Just a quick card for you today. This one features more Sale-A-Bration sneak peeks. That Vine Street Embossing folder is back again, and this time I am combining it with stamps from a set called Bloomin' Marvelous.

This card was adapted from one I made at my upline training with Amanda, (thank you Amanda), I just added the Apothecary Accent framelit - which I can't seem to stop using at the moment! LOL

Of the 8 images that you get in this set, my favourite is the hummingbird. The stamps have a slightly vintage finish and that humming bird really works with it.

On other projects I have used the rock n roll technqiue with this stamp set, and again it is a real winner! (Don't know what that technique is - request a video and I will show!)

Shimmering Sunday

Hello Everyone

I have a sparkly card for you today. And again I am giving you some sneak peeks of all the lovely choices you will have during Sale-A-Bration this year. Do you think there seem more than usual? Oh yes there are! Here in the UK we are going from 5 choices last year to 17 this year! Oh my goodness - however will you choose?! But luckily there is no limit to the number of FREEBIES you can recieve. Contact me if you want to know more....

So to todays project. I have used a Sale-A-Bration embossing folder called Vine Street - don't you just love it?! I added Sale-A-Bration ribbon and a button from a fabby pack called Sycamore Street, (3 colours of ribbon and buttons are included).

I punched the flower with layers of cardstock in Baja Breeze and Tangerine Tango using our three Scallop Circle punches and two plain circles.

The greeting comes from another Sale-A-Bration choice, Vintage Verses and I finished the project with a spritz of Champage Shimmer Paint. The picture doesn't do it justice - it really sparkles.

Hope you like today's project. I will be back on Tuesday with another video.

A Box full of Thanks

Hello Everyone

Today's project looks like a wooden box - but no actually it is a DVD/Stamp case, (now available in our big catalogue). Into the outer cover I have slipped a sheet of our beautiful Natural Composition Speciality Designer Series Paper.

I used the Apothecary Accents Dies to cut the frames and the cute greeting is from one of our upcoming Sale A Bration freebies - a stamp set called Vintage Verses. So what is inside....

Well as I said in the title, this project is a box full of thanks - four little thank you cards with matching envelopes. These were so quick and easy to make as a gift.

Did you know we sell a pack of Note Cards & Envelopes? I didn't until my upline pointed them out on page 160 of the catalogue. They are a great size and you get 20 in the pack.

I just used four and covered the upper part with designer paper from our Festival of Prints stack. (If you want it be quick, it is in the Autumn/Winter catalogue that retires at the end of the month!).

I punched a strip of cardstock and added ribbon and the greeting comes from that same Sale-A-Bration stamp set - Vintage Verses.

I made the little pockets from vellum cardstock, so you can still see the greeting and used little off-cuts of the DSP to decorate the envelopes.

Hope you like todays project - I will be back in a couple of days with more.

Hello Everyone

Oh my goodness - have you heard about Sale-A-Bration this year? At first in the UK, during this promotion you could choose from 4 free stamp sets, last year it was 4 stamp sets and one set of Designer Series Paper....this year it will be SO MUCH BIGGER!

Between 22nd January and 22nd March you are going to need to book a party - or go to a party - because you will be able to choose between SEVENTEEN different items including a free punch, embossing folder, accessories and stamps galore.

Like to have a little peek? Here is a card I made for one of my lovely downline for her recent birthday....

The beautiful embossing folder called Vine Street and the greeting stamp and cute little mini curly label punch, (called Pretty Petites and Petite Curly Label Punch), are all free choices during our Sale-A-Bration promotion.

Also featured in this card is the oh-so-pretty stamp set Summer Silhouettes stamped in Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple and Sahara Sand. I also stamped the card and envelope using Viola's Lace, a wheel which I de-mounted - click on *VIDEOS on the left to see how this is done.

Faux Tearing Technique

Hello Everyone

Today I am sharing a card we made at class at the end of last year. It is a technique I taught at my first ever class three years before, so I thought it was time to revisit it!

We used the faux tearing technique to create this card.

To do this we tore a piece of copy paper in half and folded the edges around the back of the Whisper White cardstock, securing it at the back with snail. (I prefer this to using temporary adhesive on the front, because it is so easy to mark the front by mistake).

Holding the torn paper down, we used Stampin' Sponges to sponge over the revealed strip of cardstock. The images were also stamped before removing the paper mask.

We stamped images from Nature Walk using Early Espresso ink. The sponging is done with Crumb Cake ink and the greeting comes from Petite Pairs.

We finished the card with Bakers Twine in Lucky Limeade.

Happy New Year and Thank You!

Hello Everyone

I want to start by wishing all my blog readers, customers, friends and family a very happy, healthy 2013. We are starting here in Southampton, England with a bright sunny day, so I have been able to take some blog pictures with slightly better lighting than we have been having lately!

My first two photos of the year are of all the handmade cards I have received over the festive period. There is also some very pretty handmade packaging there. (My lovely hearts are hung up - thank you Ann & Sandra and the chocolates are all gone already :) - thank you Zen & Jan! )

Thank you everyone for the time and talent you have used making these cards for Mike and I. I love them all.

The other thing I want to share is something many of you have been waiting to see since August. Many of my lovely ladies provided boxes and boxes of jam jars for my niece Sophie. She needed them for some of her home-made wedding decorations. We were all agog to see what she had done with them, and finally here is the picture...(in case you are wondering, I left my camera at the wedding and I was reunited with it over Christmas - very happy to have it back!)

Sophie and Alex greeted their guests with jars full of Pimms and Lemonade. Those fruity drinks were delicious and looked really good with the raffia bows died around them. Sophie was very grateful for all the ladies who stepped up and sent her jars just in time for the big day.

So what is new with Stampin' Up! for 2013? Well where do I start - it is our 25th birthday this year so there will be lots of Stampin' Up! excitement to be had. I will have some sneak peeks coming up over the next few weeks for our favouite promotion of the year Sale-A-Bration!

And here on my blog - I am going to start adding free video tutorials. These will run once a week and I am happy to take suggestions, comments and requests to help me make them perfect for you, my blog visitors. Hope you like them.

Happy New 2013....I can't wait to see what it will bring.
