Traditional Winter Wishes

Hello Everyone

Today's projects are taking a traditional look at winter images with the Winter Wishes stamp set from Stampin' Up!

In the sled image I used the Woodland Embossing Folder as a background in Very Vanilla and sponged Soft Suede in over it to make the embossed image pop. Just love that effect.

I finished by winding Linen Thread around the image and adding Neutrals Candy Dots.

For the second card I picked out the sleighs. I cut them out and sponged them. I added some Designer Paper from the Typeset pack and some images from the beautiful Winter Wonderland stamp set - that co-ordinate very all with Winter Wishes.

Hope you like this vintage look at the season.

Embossed two ways

Hello Everyone

I am sharing a birthday card today. This was a technique we are doing at class this month. It uses the Natural Composition Speciality DSP. We cut the DSP using the Deco Labels framelits dies from Stampin' Up!

We then sponged alternate frames with  Gumball Green and Early Espresso ink. When you wipe the excess away, the embossed part of the card has resisted the colour and you can create this lovely effect.

We used another embossed effect to finish the card. This time we used the Delicate Designs scallop edgelit to create texture and finished with four neutral Candy Dots.

If you are in the Hampshire area and would like to come along to next month's class, contact me for details.

Cycle This Way!

Hello Everyone

After my quick and clean card earlier in the week, I thought it was time for something a little more vintage today.

I have layered up a mixture of Designer Series Paper and stamped impages to create this card. I also sponged all the layers with Crumb Cake ink.

My tip for today is how to create the tag. First I used the Apothecary Accents framelit die to cut the shape in Marina Mist cardstock. It has two rounded ends so I snipped off one. (You can see this on my previous video - click *VIDEOS on the left to see it).

I then decided I needed a layer. I cut a piece of Natuals Ivory cardstock in a rectangle about a quarter of an inch bigger than the framelit tag. I then punched a 1 1/4" circle in Naturals Ivory and stuck it to the back. Much neater than trying to hand cut it! Do you like the look?

You can see another Sale-A-Bration sneak peek here. The beautiful Penny Farthing image is from a stamp set called Feeling Sentimental and I have just LOVED using this stamp set. I bet it will be the first choice freebie for many people this year.

Do you like today's project?
