Pirates on Parade

Hello Everyone

A quick post featuring the Beware Pirates stamp set - perfect for boys, girls and those of us who love Capt. Jack Sparrow. :)

We made this card at a recent workshop. First we stamped the Not Quite Navy card using the Sanded background stamp and daubed around the edge.

Next we tore a strip of Newsprint DSP, and daubed the edges with Crumb Cake ink to give an aged effect.

We stamped the pirate images on Very Vanilla cardstock and straight on to the designer paper. Next we punched and set the Jumbo eyelets using the crop a dile, and fed Black wide striped ribbon through, securing with a piece of black 1/8" taffeta ribbon.

My Dresser Cards

I have seen a number of these dresser cards online. I got my instructions from the wonderful Jackie Topa who's blog is well worth a visit.

The one we made was a football, (soccer), card for the boys. I decided to make it a male card as it is while since we did one in class and I try to do non-girly stuff sometimes! LOL

I used the retired Just Soccer stamp set - although I could have used the similar current version called Goal. The background is stamped with the large Sanded background stamp, the pennant flag is from Party This Way and the designer paper is from Woodland Walk. Our local team Southampton plays in red and white stripes so this ribbon is perfect - although I offered an alternative colour for those whose men folk foolishly support someone else. :)

Now if you want to see a more cutesy version of this card, this is the one I made first...

...OK how cute is that? It was made especially for my lovely downline and friend Nina and her family to celebrate the birth of her second little girl Isabel. The baby-grows are from a wheel called Baby Tees. It went with a little gift set...

...and yes I did spell Isabel's name wrongly! Here is a close up of the paper booties..

...love those self adhesive pearls!

Espresso Tree

Hello Everyone

Today I am sharing another Contemp Christmas project - I know I just can't stop using this stamp set!  I used the background stamp called Sanded to give some texture to the lovely dark Early Espresso cardstock.

The tree is stamped on Pink Pirouette cardstock and coloured using markers.

The sentiment comes from the Perfect Punches set - I love the way Stampin' Up! stamps fit exactly into the punches - it makes getting that professional finish SO easy.

Here is another version - this is a mini card we did as a Make and Take at my launch party. It features my favourite new colour - Cherry Cobbler.

A Man card and More Boxes!

I hope you are enjoying my more regular posts. Today I have two offerings for you. The first is a 'man' card! It was a special request from Elaine who comes to one of my monthly classes.

We all agreed that man cards and presents are the hardest - but I was happy with this gender neutral design! :D





The background stamp is called 'Sanded' and gives a great effect on the Creamy Caramel cardstock. The designer paper is from the Tea & Crumpets collection, which I just love - a great mixture of browns, yellows and pinks.

The olive image is from A Touch of Nature - such a great stamp set - there will be more samples using this set coming up soon. It is stamped in Old Olive ink, (of course), then the leaves are coloured using a Mellow Moss marker and the olives are painted with Elegant Eggplant ink.

We finished the card with linen thread, which is easy to attach with a glue dot at the back.

One final project, versions of which I have showed before - but they look SOOOO cute! Stacking boxes - love them!

More of those Tea and Crumpets papers and a spot of the It's Beautiful wheel went together to make these sweet stacks.
