Pillow Box Die

Hello Everyone

Do you have the pillow box die? It is another fond farewell from our catalogue. I find this such a great die for party favours and little gifts - and this is one that will certainly stay in my personal collection!

Here is an example made with our Vellum cardstock and embossed....

The Always sentiment is from Always Elegant - another set that will leave us this month.

Here are a few more of the pillow boxes we have made over the last year or two....

Hope you like them and if you have this die - why not get it out and have a play?

Pillow Box Basket

Hello Everyone

This basket is made using two and a half pillow boxes! I cut three pillow boxes using Naturals Ivory cardstock.  I scored across each box just above the closure and folded to form the base of the basket. After removing one half of a pillow box, I then joined the two and a half remaining ones together. I love the crown effect you get and decided I had to finish it by adding a crown top with cardstock and ribbon.

I used the Clearly For You stamp set to decorate my little basket in Wisteria Wonder and Concord Crush ink.

This project was a bit of a faff to make, but I was pleased with it when it was done.

Fabric Covered Pillow Box

Hello Everyone

Today's project is a pretty fabric covered pillow box. We made similar ones in class this month and in all the different fabrics they looked just gorgeous.

They were very simple to make using the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets from Stampin' Up! All we did was to stick one side of the adhesive sheet to a square of cardstock, then laid the fabric on to the other side of the adhesive sheet.

We then ran all three layers through the Big Shot using the Pillow Box die - so easy!

This particular one was decorated using the Flower Burst Embosslit. I ran it through the Big Shot twice, once in Whisper White and once in Wisteria Wonder. I cut out the central portion of the Wisteria flower and daubed around the edges of both with matching Wisteria Wonder ink.

I finished with white Organza ribbon, three Basic Pearls and the 'friends' sentiment from Tiny Tags. I hope you like it.

Today is the day...

Hello Everyone

Well today I am holding my Customer Thank You party - but with the magic of scheduling I am here with you too!

This was the second project we made during our May classes - using the Big Shot and the fabby Pillow Box die to create a little box in moments.

We used the wonderful Cath Kidston-like designer paper called Springtime Vintage. Like many papers it didn't look too inspiring in the catalouge image, but is simply fabulous in real life. I used an off-cut strip of the reverse of the DSP to create an accent.

I used the Four Frames swirly label stamp and punched it with the Modern Label punch to get a different effect.

We also did the ravelled ribbon effect using Crumb Cake Seam Binding ribbon. This ribbon is not what we in the UK would call seam binding. I was expecting something heavy and industrial - instead it is light, easy to tie and shines. Love it! A final rhinestone finished a really cute little project.

Hopefully, if I remember to take photos, I will be back with pics of my Customer Thank You party in a couple of days. X
