Spring Sampler Post It Notes

Hello Everyone

Today's project is a cute little post it note holder I made using the Spring Sampler stamp set. How cute is that little duck? This stamp set is just full of sweet little images.

Here is the holder open...I used those little tiny square post it notes, I think they are about 2 inches square.

Hope you like today's bright and cheerful project!

Summer Silhouette's Inspired by Cécile

Hello Everyone

Today's project features the Summer Silhouettes stamp set. I just love this stamp set. The images are so delicate.

I decided to use the Floral Frames Framelit dies to make a simple cardholder and three little matching cards.

Here is a close up of my favourite card. A SO talented French demonstrator called Cécile Ortiz who made us laugh until our sides hurt as well as creating an amazing project, used this stamp set. She showed us how to layer up the flowers as you see below...you cut out just some of the petals. She also showed us how to make the shadows - do you see it on the leaves? I am just a beginner at this but love the effect created with the Sahara Sand marker.

And if you want to say WOW! look visit Cécile's blog here.

Welcome Baby Card

Hello Everyone

A little card I made for a neighbour who had just had a little girl. I do like making new baby cards - especially in pink! You can make them as pretty as you like.

I figured out this design for a pram using the decorative label punch, four circle punches, a scallop circle and lots of pearls!

I ran a piece of Whisper White cardstock through the Big Shot with the Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder. I layered up the pram and finished with the That's The Ticket stamp set from the Spring/Summer catalogue, cut out with the matching Ticket Builder Punch.

Hope you like it!

Last chance for Sale A Bration 2013!

Hello Everyone

Today is the very last day of Sale-A-Bration 2013! I cannot believe that two months have gone by so fast! Today I am sharing a card that features two of the freebies we have been sharing.

The first is the Vine Street embossing folder. I ran it through the Big Shot with the Primrose Petals Core'dinations cardstock from our Spring Summer catalogue. (The cardstock works with all our other embossing folders of course!)

I sanded it with the Stampin' Sanding system to get the effect you see below.

The stamp set I used for both the card and the envelopes is Bloomin' Marvelous. This is a card we have been making as a Make and Take workshop card over the last few weeks. Hope you like it.

And if you want any more SAB goodies - you have until 11pm UK time! :)

Floral Frames Basket Video

Hello Everyone

Today's video was inspired by a post by Brenda Quintana who made a cute easter basket. You can see her original post here.

I loved her version and wanted to do a video for you. Here is my take the project.

Thank you for the inspiration Brenda!

This one was done with the Bloomin' Marvelous stamp set, available free during Sale a Bration. Be quick if you want it...SAB finishes on 22nd March this year!

I just love that little hummingbird - isn't it sweet!

March Technique with By The Tide

Hello Everyone

Today's card features the technique I taught at class this month. This background is made with ink pads, Stampin' Sponges, water spritzer and plastic document holders.

Slit open your document holder. Sponge two or more colours of ink onto one side. Spritz with water, or not, Brayer outside, or not, put Whisper White or Glossy cardstock inside....and see what happens.

You can get all sorts of different effects - in fact no two images are the same.

Here we used the By The Tide stamp set to create an undersea image.

The greeting comes from the Blooming Marvelous Sale-A-Bration stamp set and is punched out using the Ticket Builder Punch.

Here is another version. See what I mean about the different effect you can get? Here I used Patterned Occasions, (the jeans), Ciao, Baby, (the #!), and Word Play, (the greeting).

I will be back on Sunday with another card made using this technique.

Man card gets wheels!

Hello Everyone

Today's card features two cycles. The one on the tag is is from Postage Due and the penny farthing is from the Feeling Sentimental and I thought they would make a great 'man card'.

I used some DSP including the woodgrain paper from the Natural Composition Speciality Designer Series Paper. I sponged it with Soft Sude ink to make the embossed areas pop.

To make the tag I cut Not Quite Navy cardstock with one of the Apothecary Labels dies, snipping off one of the rounded ends. I then cut a larger piece of card in Naturals Ivory cardstock, then cut a circle with my 1 3/8" punch. I layered these behind the Navy layer and punched through to create the tag.

I finished with Stiched Satin and Seam Binding ribbon, tied with Island Indigo Bakers Twine.

Hope you like this card. Back on Tuesday with another video.

Butterflies and Sparkle

Hello Everyone

Today I took a card from my stash and added to it! I am usually a more is more girl, so I decided this card looked a little empty with just the greeting and the sweet Bordering On Romance image at the bottom.

So I decided to add some butterflies and sparkle. :)

The butterflies come from the Papillion Potpourri - and YAY! - we have a punch for those little butterflies in the new Spring/Summer catalogue.

I finished with Champagne Shimmer Paint misted over the top to give extra sparkle.

Hope you like my little tweaks!

Happy Hello Part 2

Hello Everyone

On Friday I promised more goodies made with the Happy Hello kit, available free with qualifying purchase during Sale-A-Bration.

Here we go...this was your sneak peek....

First the card box. I first saw this on lovely Hayley Gillie's blog and loved it. I used the ingredients for just one card, (of the 8 in the pack), to make the box.

I then made five co-ordinating cards to fit inside. The cards are decorated with the lovely Patterned Occasions stamp set, also available free during Sale-A-Bration. The colours I chose were Daffodil Delight and Pool Party, to co-ordinate with the box.

The second creation I made was the gift bag. This is made from one of the pretty matching envelopes that come in the set. They have a shaped coloured flap that was so cute I just had to make something with one.

I made this by scoring down the sides and across the bottom of the envelope at one inch on each side. I got one hand inside the envelope and gently pushed the score lines into place to create the bag shape. I trimmed the flap to match, punched and used Sycamore Street ribbon, (another SAB choice),
and finished with the cup from Patterned Occasions.  I stamped the cup twice then cut out one layer to pop up.

I hope these projects have given you some inspiration for use of the Happy Hello kit.

Back on Tuesday with a new video - visit again then :)

Happy Hello Part 1

Hello Everyone

Today is a quick card. Very quick in fact because it is made with the Happy Hello kit, available FREE during Sale-A-Bration with a qualifying purchase.

This kit contains enough goodies to make 8 cards. Here I used just the front part of one card, the adhesive cardstock flower layers, Rhinestone, grey adheisve cardstock strip and Bakers Twine. All these items come in the kit. I added some DSP butterflies, punched shapes and a sentiment from the Vintage Verses stamp set, (another Sale-A-Bration choice).

On Sunday I will be back with a whole load of other projects made with this kit....here is a sneak peek....come and visit again next time.

Enjoy your weekend
