We can't cope with snow in the south of England! My new class in Twyford today had to be postponed. I had booked leave from my day job, so decided to do some more crafting and make the most of another snow day.

First I am going to share a card I did for the Inspiring Inkin' Challenge. This challenge runs every fortnight and this is the first time I have joined in - but not the last. This time we had to create a card using the chalkboard technique.
...
I used white craft ink with the lovely medallion stamp on elegant eggplant cardstock, then added Stampin' Pastels to add vibrant colour to the design. The frame and sentiment come from Vintage Labels, which is one of the Sale a Bration sets you can get free at the moment.

Next I made such a cute project. My lovely sister Maria gave me a USB Christmas tree which I have had on my desk. It changes colour and is very cheerful and didn't want to put it away with the decorations. Instead of celebrating Christmas all year, I carefully removed the little tree and made a vellum and cardstock box to go over the light.
...
I used my SU! butterfly and heart punch and stamped vellum to go inside the punched holes. I scored the vellum for the top and added some of punched hearts to decorate. When it changes colour it looks so pretty! Now I have my desk ornament all year.

I did also promise to show you more projects that I made over the weekend. With Valentines day coming up, I have been playing with the Love You Much stamp set. I really think I will be using lost of the images from this one all year. The little birds and hearts are so gorgeous.
The next one has that oh-so-cute love birds stamp. I love that the 3 heart punch matches the heart stamps that come with the set, so it makes doing the little hearts very easy. This ribbon is my favourite of all the Stampin' Up! ribbons. It is a wide striped ribbon that is soft and easy to tie.
The final card couldn't be more simple. Just the love stamp on Whisper White, layered on Real Red cardstock with more of that striped grossgrain ribbon. You can see clearly on this picture how sweet that hearts wheel image is.

Well I had better stop now - although I still have more projects to share! I am on a roll at the minute. Hope you like - and why not have a go at the Inspirin' Inkin' Challenge. I'd love to see what you come up with.

ReplyDeleteAnd if you want to send some (by which I mean lots) of snow my way feel free. We've had no more than about 1cm worth since the big freeze started! And not a single flake is left. Nor have we had any snow days either. I'm getting so jealous of everyone's fun now! :P
