Last call for Tiny Treat Boxes?

Hello Everyone

Today I am sharing an alternative use of the Tiny Treat Boxes. I don't think, as I type, that they will be carrying over to the Spring/Summer catalogue - although personally I hope they do. So just in case, I am doing a quick share of a project you might like to make if you get them while you can!  (Updated to say - woo hoo! - happy dance - they are staying - shhh - you didn't hear it from me :) )

When my class ladies made up these boxes back in September, I gave them two options - Christmas or non-Christmas. Here was their non-festive choice.

We used the Typeset Speciality designer series paper and daubed the edges to make the panels look aged. We The greeting is from the Project Life stamp set Life's Adventure and we finished with Thick Bakers Twine in Baked Brown Sugar.

I hope you like what may be my final Tiny Treat Box!

Forest Critters and Flowering Flourishes

Hello Everyone

I am almost ready for Christmas - but today I thought I would share a trio of projects I did a while ago - and are non-festive :) The first features the little mouse from Life in the Forest. This was a semi-CASE of a project I saw online - but can't find now to credit the original designer. (If it is you - let me know).  I loved the way she had her mice coming at different angles into a circle. I used the Hardwood background stamp - stamping in Mossy Meadow on to Old Olive cardstock.

The next card in similar colour way uses Flowering Flourishes for the stem and Flower Shop for the flowers. The flowers are coloured using Daffodil Delight Blendabilities.

And for the final one - I am back to Life in the Forest and those cute little hedgehogs. I used the reflection technique to make the second hedgehog a mirror image and did masking to layer up the trees. The trees are coloured with the Old Olive Blendabilities, the Hedgehogs are done with the Skin Tones set. I stamped the toadstools and coloured in - highlighting the spots with the White Chalk Marker.

Here is a little close up of the colouring - the background is done with daubers.

Hope you liked today's non-holiday projects. I will be back with one more video before Christmas day - see you Tuesday!

Tea Lights in Festive Packaging

Hello Everyone

Today I am sharing one of my December class projects. We have done stamped tea lights before - but I really wanted to use the cute stamps from Holiday Home and White Christmas - they are a great fit for these candles.

We made the little gift box using the Envelope Punch Board in Trim the Tree DSP and finished with cute Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding bow.

I thought this would be a great gift to give to hostess over the festive season.

I hope you enjoyed today's video and have a go at the technique yourself.

Blended Bloom in Old Olive

Hello Everyone

I thought I would do a non-festive project today. These Blended Bloom flowers are so much fun to colour and they look great in any of the Blendabilities colours - but you wouldn't  necessarily think it would work in green - but check out this Old Olive flower.

I love the way it seems to pop off the page. I stamped the background with more of the same stamp in Memento ink on Whisper White and the greeting comes from a set called Peace, Love and Cupcakes - love the font on that greeting.

Fancy Closure Bag

Hello Everyone

When my Curvy Keepsake die - I decided to have a play and see if I could use it to create a fun closure for a bag….and this is what I came up with.

I made a simple bag using the beautiful heavy duty Under the Tree speciality DSP.

I then cut two die cuts of using the Curvy Keepsake die in the red. I separated the closures,by removing the the slotted pieces from the base of the box. Those two I adhered to either side of the front of the bag - just gluing on the outer edges.  I used part of the base to flip over the top of the bag so it met the slots…if that makes sense!

I finished with a tag, decorated with a greeting and some sequins. Hope you like today's project.

Curvy Keepsake Boxes

Hello Everyone

In Tuesday's video I showed you how to make a Curvy Keepsake box with the die from the Autumn/Winter catalogue from Stampin' Up!

I also gave you a quick peek at some of my other samples, but I thought today I would share some pictures too.  The first two are made with Sweet Taffy DSP on the left and Old Olive card stock on the right. The Olive one is heat embossed using Papillion Potpourri and then colour using Blendabilites.

The one below was, I admit, a bit of a work up to make it stick. The only way I have found to stick the glimmer paper is to scrape a patch off before applying adhesive - if you know a magic way to make it stick - do let me know! Looks pretty though, doesn't it?

Simple Ornamental Pine Cones

Hello Everyone

This card is SO simple - you can have it done in moments if you are still making your cards! Or save the design for next year and your cards will all be made in a jiffy!

I used Ornamental Pine, stamped the pine bough in Garden Green, using the marker to stamp technique to add Early Espresso for the stem. The pine cone is stamped in Espresso, first the dark one then without re-inking the second, so you get the effect of one behind the other.

I used snail adhesive to wrap a piece of Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding ribbon around the Very Vanilla layer, then separately tied a bow and attached with glue dots.

I stamped the greeting in Early Espresso, stuck the Vanilla layer to a Cherry Cobbler base card and I was done. Easy peasy! So are your cards all done yet?

Project life cards

Hello Everyone

In the summer, I did a video showing you how to make the bicycle card below using elements from the Project Life range. I just realised, I didn't show you the other two cards in the set, so I am taking a break from Christmas and putting that right today…

For this one I have take one of the Project Life cards and stamped directly on to it using the Flowering Flourishes stamp set. I used the marker to stamp technique to match the colours on the card - love Stampin' Up! co-ordination! I embossed the background using the Arrows Embossing Folder.

This next one uses an image from Life's Adventure - one of our hostess sets. I made a cute welcome home card - stamping with Memento Ink on to the card and colouring in with Blendabilites. I didn't colour everywhere - just picked out a few elements. I made a welcome tag using Washi Tape an a sticker from the Project Life Everyday Adventure add on kit. I finished with stamped washi using the Tape It stamp set

Have you made any non-scrapbooking projects with Project Life goodies? If you have, send me a picture or a link - I would love to see what you did!

VIDEO Turning Thanksgiving into Christmas!

Hello Everyone

Today I am sharing another video featuring the fabby Making Spirits Bright stamp set - using the Thanksgiving stamp to make a Christmas Card.

One thing I missed on the video, was adding doodle dots around the scallop circle with the White Chalk Marker - you can see it done on the original card on the left. What do you think - does it need it?

Petite Cafe Gift Bag - ready to be festive!

Hello Everyone

Back in September, I shared an autumn version of this project - and now it is certainly time for the festive side!

Just to remind you, these Petite Cafe Gift Bags are food safe with a waxy finish inside and a strong fold over seal.

I used the Holiday Home stamp set again, (yes I love it!), to create this Christmas scene. I stamped the house in Stazon and coloured it with markers and watercolour with our inks using an Aqua painter. I added a Gold Glimmer Paper star and some ribbon to finish.

These bags are so easy to decorate - you can just use designer paper and ribbon and they look amazing. I think this will be lovely filled with festive goodies! Hope you like it.

Bauble in Blue

Hello Everyone

Today's card is my next Christmas Bauble offering. This time I coloured the holly with Blender Pens and watercolour ink. I used Washi Tape across the top and then got out my heat gun!

The bauble itself is stamped onto Night of Navy cardstock with Versamark ink and heat embossed using gold embossing powder.

I used my larger Project Life Marker and Chalk Marker to highlight the detail and fussy cut the bauble, popping it up on the card with dimensionals.

I have one more bauble to come - and that is in a video next month!

Angel Punch Art - inspired by Tracey W

Hello Everyone

In our team we have a punch art princess. Her name is Tracey Walters - and if you have an old UK catalogue collection, you can see her picture as a hostess!

Well Tracey does amazing punch art of all kinds, and this is based on one of hers. We made it in class and the main parts, (dress and wings), are done with the Gift Bow die.

Other punches are 1 1/4 & 1 3/8" circle punches, word window and scallop oval. The greeting is from White Christmas. The halo is done in Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and we added sequins to her wings and her angel face is drawn on with the fine Project Life marker. I had some giant paper clips, so we made her into a book mark at class.

Thank you Tracey W for the inspiration.

VIDEO - Houses in the Snow - embossed with love!

Hello Everyone

Today's video was something I thought of as soon as I saw that Santa-and-Reindeer stamp in the Holiday Home stamp set. I thought of doing the effect on Night of Navy or Basic Black cardstock, but decided in the end to go for a softer look with Soft Suede.

Enjoy the video - I make a slightly different version to this one - come back and tell me which one you prefer.

Back on Saturday with a classic festive punch art project.

Traditional Christmas Ornament

Hello Everyone

Well after starting with pinks and lilacs for my first share of this stamp set, I decided to get all traditional and give you Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler today.

I coloured with a mixture of Blendabilites and markers and stamped the Ornamental Pine image on the background of the green card.

In this close up you can see I have fussy cut out another holly bunch and layered it up. It doesn't show too well, but I used Crystal Effects on the berries to make them shine and add dimension.

I have some blue options for you coming up on my blog - but perhaps you prefer traditional?

Ornamental Pine Stamped Candle

Hello Everyone

Today's project is a candle stamped with the Ornamental Pine stamp set. I love this technique and taught it at my first ever class, (I must have been brave as it is not a beginners project!)

If you haven't done this, you stamp on tissue paper, (the wrapping kind, as thin as possible). You then place the tissue on the candle, wrap in wax paper or baking parchment and heat with a heat gun until the wax melts and the paper becomes incorporated into the candle.

In case you are wondering, they are perfectly safe to burn. The paper just disappears as the wax melts with it. I did some non-Christmas ones at a recent party, (thank you Jenny J), and I wanted to share this festive option too.

Hope you like it. :)
