Fancy Closure Bag

Hello Everyone

When my Curvy Keepsake die - I decided to have a play and see if I could use it to create a fun closure for a bag….and this is what I came up with.

I made a simple bag using the beautiful heavy duty Under the Tree speciality DSP.

I then cut two die cuts of using the Curvy Keepsake die in the red. I separated the closures,by removing the the slotted pieces from the base of the box. Those two I adhered to either side of the front of the bag - just gluing on the outer edges.  I used part of the base to flip over the top of the bag so it met the slots…if that makes sense!

I finished with a tag, decorated with a greeting and some sequins. Hope you like today's project.

Curvy Keepsake Boxes

Hello Everyone

In Tuesday's video I showed you how to make a Curvy Keepsake box with the die from the Autumn/Winter catalogue from Stampin' Up!

I also gave you a quick peek at some of my other samples, but I thought today I would share some pictures too.  The first two are made with Sweet Taffy DSP on the left and Old Olive card stock on the right. The Olive one is heat embossed using Papillion Potpourri and then colour using Blendabilites.

The one below was, I admit, a bit of a work up to make it stick. The only way I have found to stick the glimmer paper is to scrape a patch off before applying adhesive - if you know a magic way to make it stick - do let me know! Looks pretty though, doesn't it?

Back on Tuesday with another gifting option video for you :)

Simple Ornamental Pine Cones

Hello Everyone

This card is SO simple - you can have it done in moments if you are still making your cards! Or save the design for next year and your cards will all be made in a jiffy!

I used Ornamental Pine, stamped the pine bough in Garden Green, using the marker to stamp technique to add Early Espresso for the stem. The pine cone is stamped in Espresso, first the dark one then without re-inking the second, so you get the effect of one behind the other.

I used snail adhesive to wrap a piece of Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding ribbon around the Very Vanilla layer, then separately tied a bow and attached with glue dots.

I stamped the greeting in Early Espresso, stuck the Vanilla layer to a Cherry Cobbler base card and I was done. Easy peasy! So are your cards all done yet?

Project life cards

Hello Everyone

In the summer, I did a video showing you how to make the bicycle card below using elements from the Project Life range. I just realised, I didn't show you the other two cards in the set, so I am taking a break from Christmas and putting that right today…

For this one I have take one of the Project Life cards and stamped directly on to it using the Flowering Flourishes stamp set. I used the marker to stamp technique to match the colours on the card - love Stampin' Up! co-ordination! I embossed the background using the Arrows Embossing Folder.

This next one uses an image from Life's Adventure - one of our hostess sets. I made a cute welcome home card - stamping with Memento Ink on to the card and colouring in with Blendabilites. I didn't colour everywhere - just picked out a few elements. I made a welcome tag using Washi Tape an a sticker from the Project Life Everyday Adventure add on kit. I finished with stamped washi using the Tape It stamp set

Have you made any non-scrapbooking projects with Project Life goodies? If you have, send me a picture or a link - I would love to see what you did!

VIDEO Turning Thanksgiving into Christmas!

Hello Everyone

Today I am sharing another video featuring the fabby Making Spirits Bright stamp set - using the Thanksgiving stamp to make a Christmas Card.

One thing I missed on the video, was adding doodle dots around the scallop circle with the White Chalk Marker - you can see it done on the original card on the left. What do you think - does it need it?

Petite Cafe Gift Bag - ready to be festive!

Hello Everyone

Back in September, I shared an autumn version of this project - and now it is certainly time for the festive side!

Just to remind you, these Petite Cafe Gift Bags are food safe with a waxy finish inside and a strong fold over seal.

I used the Holiday Home stamp set again, (yes I love it!), to create this Christmas scene. I stamped the house in Stazon and coloured it with markers and watercolour with our inks using an Aqua painter. I added a Gold Glimmer Paper star and some ribbon to finish.

These bags are so easy to decorate - you can just use designer paper and ribbon and they look amazing. I think this will be lovely filled with festive goodies! Hope you like it.
