Lovely as a Tree two ways

Hello Everyone

Do you own the Lovely as a Tree stamp set? If not why not? LOL  It is our longest lasting stamp set in the Stampin' Up! catalogue, we think over 15 years it has been around, for the very good reason that it is simply beautiful.

It works at Christmas time with a stunning fir tree, there is a beautiful oak tree, an oak leaf and some little leaf stamps - but best of all is the row of trees and I am sharing two cards using these.

The first is the classic reflection card. (I have a video on this technique if you would like to search). We did this one recently at my upline's training event.

The second card was inspired by a swap I received from a fellow demo called Jill Boulton, (thank you Jill). She used the idea of the coloured strips and vellum, but with another stamp set. I loved the idea and decided it would be perfect with Lovely as a Tree.

The buttons and clear - they match the trio of Itty Bitty punches, (retiring soon - get them while you can). I punched the matching shape from co-ordinating cardstock and used the buttons to hide the dot of Tombow glue I used to adhere the vellum. The buttons are also stuck to the coloured backing with tombow and the 'thread' is done with a chalk marker.

I was very happy with the way this CASE came out - hope you like it too.

VIDEO So Very Grateful Tag

Hello Everyone

I am often asked where I get all my ideas. Well sometimes from you if you blog! I love to be inspired by others. However, today I am sharing a project inspired by an image in the Stampin' Up! Spring/Summer catalogue.

I hope you enjoyed today's video. Back soon with more.

Pacific Point Ribbon Projects

Hello Everyone

In the Spring/Summer catalogue from Stampin' Up! (which finishes on the last day of June), we have some beautiful 1 1/4" wide striped grosgrain ribbon. I thought I would share a couple of projects using this stunning ribbon today.

The first is a simple card using an Antique Brad and the Lovely Romance stamp set. I embossed the card with one of the narrow Adorning Accents embossing folders.

The second project is packaging for a special gift. I simply pleated the ribbon in my fingers and secured with a staple. Then I tied a tag around with Bakers Twine. The tag is cut with the Chalk Talk framelits and stamped a greeting with the the matching stamp set.

So if you bought any of this lovely ribbon - or have some from one of our previous offerings, I hope that has inspired you to get it out and play.

Unseasonably Christmas!

Hello Everyone

No I haven't gone crazy for Christmas! This is a tip for my fellow demonstrators, (many of whom like to pop by my blog I am proud to say). Sometimes when I teach a class or run an event, I end up with some left over cut and scored pieces of cardstock.

This year I have decided that every time that happens, I am going to turn the cardstock into Christmas cards. That way when the festive season arrives, the majority of my 80 or so hand stamped cards will be made already!

So here are two designs I made recently. The first features the Wonderful Wreath stamp, stamped with Silver Ink - doesn't that ink shine - it looks heat embossed but it isn't. The gift and greeting stamp are from Wishing You. (All stamps currently available, but not sure if they will reappear in the July catalogue).

The second card uses the Festive Flurry stamps, this time stamped in Basic Grey on to the Soft Slate cardstock. You may be able to see a bit of pricking around the big circle too.

I like to get ahead with my festive planning! :)

Hip Hip Horray Box

Hello Everyone

Today I am sharing another project made with the amazing Hip Hip Horray kit from Stampin' Up! I have been playing with the cards and come up with a cute little box design, which I will be sharing at upcoming parties.

I made two types the first one uses just the kit and nothing else….

…the second one also uses punches, ribbon and cardstock.

I am looking forward to teaching these over the next few weeks. Back on Tuesday with a fun box video tutorial.

Smile - it's MDS

Hello Everyone

Today I am sharing a card made with My Digital Studio, (MDS). This digital crafting program is available to download for a FREE months' trial. If you like it, it costs just £13.95 to own the full program.

I am a complete novice with this software, but I thought I would share a card I made.

It was easy to do. I like the way you can scale the elements to any size; look how I made mini versions of the Mixed Bunch stamps!

Also those pearls aren't real - they are just printed - but they really seem to pop off the page. I re-coloured them silver too!

I hope you enjoyed today's project - back soon with more.
