Congratulations Carrie & John!

Hello Everyone
...
Today I am sharing an engagement card I made a little while ago for my dear friends Carrie and John who are to be married in May.
...
As Carrie's sister is overseas at the moment, I was honoured and delighted to be asked to go with Carrie to choose her wedding dress - I can't tell you about her dress, other than to say she will look simply beautiful!
...
OK - so here is the card I made. It is an enlarged and more fancy version of a rosebud card I had on my blog a couple of months ago.

I made the card using the stunning Bride speciality designer paper from Stampin' Up! This paper is more like a cardstock it is so thick and when you apply colour using a brayer or dauber it resists on the swirls, so you can turn in from bridal white to any colour you like.
I coloured the cardstock using Creamy Caramel ink and one of the punched hearts using Chocolate Chip ink.
....

Next I punched a circle in the front of the card and attached a piece of vellum cardstock stamped with the En Francais background stamp. The rose buds are made using the Two Step Bird Punch, (the bud is the wing of the bird).

....
Inside the card I used two tags stamped with the Mr & Mrs and Love sentiments from the Tiny Tags stamp set and punched using the matching punch. The envelope was stamped with Vintage Vogue.
...

Hope you like - I was very pleased with this card :)

Chocolate Bird on a Branch

Hello Everyone

...

I do love Bird on Branch and I think it works so well in this colour combination.
...
I used the Kraft and Turquoise to create a frame for the main image, and stamped with the speckled image that comes with the set to add texture.
...

I finished with the beautiful wide striped grossgrain ribbon and satin ribbon both in chocolate chip - I love how everything goes together with Stampin' Up!

Hope you like.... :)

Heat Embossed Medallion

Hello Everyone
...
I made this card a while ago, but it is still in my samples box because I think it looks stunning.
...
I mostly use the medallion stamp as a background, but here it is up front and dramatic.

To make this card, I first stamped the Elegant Eggplant cardstock with the En Francais background stamp in basic black ink.
...
Next I stamped the medallion in Versamark Ink and embossed using Stampin' Up! gold embossing powder. I always use an embossing buddy first, which is a little pad that you wipe across the card before adding the ink. It stops any little static spots attracting the embossing powder and creates a lovely clean image.
...
I coloured Whisper White ribbon with Elegant Eggplant ink to finish the project.

Forest Friends Class Card

Hello Everyone
...
This is the final project from my June classes. I needed a simple card and decided to use this pretty layout using the tree image form Forest Friends.
...
The tree is coloured using the markers direct to marker technique, the 'For You' sentiment is stamped onto vellum cardstock, punched out using the word window punch and adhered using tombow. (LOVE that glue - it sticks everything and doesn't show even under vellum).
...

...
The base card is Blush Blossom. The yellow panels are designer paper and the pink ones are stamped using the flourish from the Framed with Love stamp set. Now look again and you will see my not-so-deliberate mistake! The top left panel was stuck on upside down and I didn't notice until I was photographing the card. LOL!

Sweet Pea Bookmarks

Hello Everyone
...
Today I am sharing the chipboard bookmarks which were the 3D project we made at my June classes.
...
I just LOVE those My Sweet Pea birdies - they look so cute. My ladies had a choice of design and sentiment, but we all used the pretty pink Sweet Pea designer paper and fabulous felt flowers from Stampin' Up!
...

...
I really think the My Sweet Pea bird looks great in bright colours, so we went with Pumpkin Pie, Pink Passion and Old Olive.

...
I've love to know what you think! Do leave me a message :)

Father's Day Cards

Hello Everyone

...

My Dad and Father in Law are both football fans, and with the world cup on too I though a Football, (soccer), card would be perfect for them for Father's Day. Time to use the Just Soccer stamp set.
...
I learned how to make this card from Elaine who gave us a great demonstration at a training event in the spring.
...
As you open the card, the ball image emerges - I love it!

I made the boots glossy with Crystal Effects and tied them to a brad with linen thread 'laces'.
...
Team colours were important too. My Father in Law supports Southampton, so his colours had to be Real Red and Whisper White - my Dad is a West Ham fan, so it was Bravo Burgandy and Tempting Turquoise for his card.

Bird on a Branch and an event

Hello Everyone

This month at my classes I am teaching a 'step' card and this is one of the samples I made while I was preparing it.
...
I do love that Bird on a Branch - it works with so many different themes. I decided to pick up the colours in the DSP and make a particularly colourful tree for my chocolate chip birdie to sit on.

I thought I would also post a picture of me at a recent charity event. One of my new stamping friends Sara, (hi Sara - waves), organised a stand for me at a ladies night. I had a great time, meeting lots of lovely ladies and getting them stamping.

See you in a couple of days for the next project.

Love Elizabeth X

Make a Wish

Hello Everyone
...
Just a quick post today. This is a card we made at a meeting with Amanda a while back. I think the owl from Fox & Friends looks so cute here.
...
Of course I had to fiddle with the card, so ended up adding the faux stitches around the edge - I admire simple designs by others - but as those that come to my classes know, for me more is MORE! LOL

Hope you like.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

Hello Everyone
...
It's my birthday - so what better than to share two birthday cards featuring cupcakes with you.
...
They both use the Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set and the beautiful Pink Flamingo designer series paper from Stampin' Up!
...
On this first card I used the paper pricking tool and mat pack to embellish the background mat and the cake images are coloured using an aqua painter and inks.

...
The second card also uses the cupcakes wheel, which makes SUCH a cute feature. The big cupcake is frosted with dazzling diamonds.
...

...
Well I am off to eat my own birthday cake right now! See you soon.

Embossed Whimsical Wings

Hello Everyone
...
I have hardly used this beautiful stamp set and I should because it is yummy. It is one of the hostess sets, exclusively available to our wonderful hostesses.
...
This time I embossed in three ways. First I stamped the main bird image in versamark on black cardstock and embossed using black embossing powder.
...
I then stamped the wing area on to very vanilla cardstock and once again embossed in black and cut out the wing, layering on to the bird with a dimensional.
...
My final embossing came with the vanilla flowers. I stamped them in black stazon ink. I then coloured them in using the versamark pen, embossed using clear embossing powder and cut them out.

I finished the project with a pearl from the Pretties kit, some lovely wide striped ribbon and a tiny tag. The background paper is from Bella Bleu. Love it!

...

Leave me a message to let me know what you think. I love to read them.

Emboss Resist Class Card

Hello Everyone
...

This is one of the projects we are making at my June classes. Every month we do 3 projects - and this one is our technique project for this month.
...

It is made using two stamp sets - Frames with a Flourish and Pocket Silhouettes.

The technique is achieved by heat embossing the images on to white cardstock and then daubing the blue ink colours over the top.
...
The faux brads are made with a 1/4inch circle punch, topped with Crystal Effects, which gives that lovely glossy finish. Because they take a while to dry, I made them all up in advance!

... I also made a Whisper White version - which one do you prefer?

Vintage Vogue Two Colour Ways

Hello Everyone
...
I LOVE the Vintage Vogue stamp set from the Stampin' Up! UK mini catalogue. Recently I have done two Make & Take projects using this fabulous set.
...
The first one uses Rose Red, Pretty in Pink and Sage Shadow. The background is stamped with the background stamp called Sanded, which gives a lovely subtle effect.

...
The second card shows how different the very same stamp set can look when done in a different colour. This time, I used Creamy Caramel and Very Vanilla cardstock and stamped in Old Olive and Creamy Caramel ink.
...
The background uses the co-ordinating Very Vintage wheel and is stamped in Chocolate Chip.

This card was finished with a sentiment from Oval All, punched out with the Scalloped Oval punch and a bow tied in the beautiful Old Olive satin ribbon.

Soft Suede Studio Sketches

Hello Everyone
...
Today I am sharing a card made using the lovely new Soft Suede ink and cardstock from Stampin' Up!
...
I needed a man card, so thought I would use one of the Studio Sketches images, available as a hostess set in the mini catalogue.

The card features lots of daubing with the Soft Suede ink, and speckled stamping using one of the stamps from Bird on a Branch. Before daubing, I used the distressing tool to give a shabby chic look to the card.

...

Loving this new colour! I hope you do too.
