Challenges, challenges!

Hello everyone

I have been busy in my craft room with challenges this week, as well as getting ahead with my Father's Day cards and gifts.
Just in time, I finished the Stamp with Us colour challenge. The inspiration photo was the one to the left.

Now I know it is just a colour challenge, but I am a girl who can never resist a chocolate cake so I broke out my favourite Stampin' Up! set Crazy for Cupcakes.

I wanted to make a shopfront effect, so made an acetate window to display my cakes behind.

I used the Stampin' Up! designer series paper in chocolate chip and close to cocoa. The image was stamped in Stazon and then coloured using the SU! markers. I used lots of dimensionals to pop the cakes and window up and really love the 3D effect on this card. The sentiment stamp is from a much loved retired SU! set. Here is the inside of the card:
The next challenge was for my Splitcoast Sisters blog group *waves*. This is the second challenge called Card Duo. We had to make two cards either the same layout, using different colors the same colors with different layout or layout variation. I went for the first option, but not knowing when to stop made four cards! LOL

As you can see I used the Tart and Tangy and Oval All stamp sets and Summer Picnic designer
series paper that matches.

I used the scallop edge punch to make the background squares. Hope you all like it. I ended up making a holder and some matching envelopes.
Scroll down and you will see my Splitcoast Sisters challenge 3.

The other thing I made this week is my Father's Day cards. I used another retired SU! set called Provence which I think is lovely. I love to stamp in Stazon and paint using the aqua painter brush and inks. You can get such a subtle effect. As a girl who can't paint to save my life, it makes me very happy to be able to get results like this.

So now for the third Splitcoast Sisters' challenge. For this one we had a choice of categories and I went for the project using Designer Series Paper.

I found a great little gift in Lakeland, a whole piece of corn that can be popped in the microwave. I thought this was an ideal present to giftwrap using the Washington Apple designer series paper which is in the new mini catalogue and I LOVE it.

The bags were made by creating a tube of paper just large enough for the popcorn packaging. I secured it using strong sticky strip. I think took a little piece of paper and secured both ends inside the bottom to create a base. The top was made using a top note template shape which I hand cut. The POP was stamped using the Typeset Alphas set and the funky flower is from the One of a Kind set.

Well that is me done for now. Hope you like the projects. Thanks so much to those who leave a comment - I love to read them.
